The tv's finally work in home. Well at least if you have EOD Loot TV... which I just happen to have two in my hollywood appartment in Home. Now with more movies in full length. Contols have been adjusted too. Play and pause is using the up d-pad. Did not see any fast forward or chapter skip? The price if you have the correct tv is free. Cost do apply to get the TV fyi. Finally, we can watch movies together with your friends in HOME. Enjoy!

I just tried the 720 and was impressed with easy setup and audio. Beware the volume knob on this one it gets pretty loud. It's on wire going to my headset for a good connection with no batteries. I enjoyed the surround sound on this one. I was tempted to sell my Px5 turtlebeach, But it was way too tight on my big head. Ouch!!!

If Trittan would make 5.1 simmulated sound with the 180 style... I believe we would have a winner for mid range price for headsets.

According to her website VeronicaBelmont.com she is moving to another project. She will no longer be working with Qore on PSN anymore. A new host will replace her. Qore has been going through some changes with its format. Personally, I think she is a great host and maybe her next adventure will be better.

As for Qore, I still think they miss the mark. It started off with Betas, free games, and other things unique. BUT that went away after a year for PSN+, adding a magazine preview to sell more magazine which only gives you a taste I feel fails on so many levels as to why? It's an ad not a feature. What I did like about Qore was that met with the developers at their locations and gave us a glympse at what it like behind the scenes. Veronica always brought a nice positive smile to every situation and gave a good human element. Qore, I have watched from the beginning and I always felt that it was rushed and slapped together leaving you feel like maybe the next one will be better.

For Qore to be better with new host is a challenge. I look to more at the director, writers, and producers in regards to content. Ok, the free stuff is no going to be there...I get that. But, my personal opinion that they should make more like a gamer magazine exposes us to games, news, products for our ps3, and a little education to get the most out of our PS3 and PSVita. How about events like E3 and TGS or game releases.

hold the top button for 1 second to hear the beep for virtual sound and then again to turn off.

Short and to the point. These hackers are making a mess of major internet sites besides SONY. The Microsoft guys are jumping up and down saying they are secure. But if they go down, then what?

They did not turn off SONY, SONY turned themselves off after the discovering of being hacked and wanted to stop the theft by doing the Absolute thing in turning off the network. As in last Sunday's announcement in Japan. We can home to have some our services turned back on this week with new security.

Looking for a fun game similar to Call of Duty, then definitely check Crysis 2. Saw major improvements compared to when I was in the beta on xbox 360. Graphics look great and the 3D works. Thanks to a gamestop employee who told me to take a test drive on a retail copy. The audio he pointed out was amazing in suround sound with the music. Going to try to take his advice and try it again with the music off with surround on. The campaign is to be about 13hrs long and the multiplayer is fun too and plenty of people to play against. Check it out 5 out 5.

Setup of 3D on the PS3 from IGN

Important! You need to upgrade to a high speed hdmi. The normal hdmi will not work. You will see on the package high speed and most likely something about 3D capable or 4k= 4 x 1080p. I recently got a 46 inch bravia from BestBuy 240hz and recommend the hdmi cable form SONY with gold plating 10.2 GBps which I got from Walmart for $34.99. I tried another brand for $14.99 but the picture was coming in darker. You may experiment with more expensive cables to get the picture your looking for.

This video really helps because the 3d tv did not tell you how at all... Kind of messed up if you ask me. This is probably WHY we see reviews out there about people not getting the quality out of their tv and returning them. (PS I was feeling the pain til I researched online too). Also recommend adjust your display settings to get the best picture for your room. Motionflow using Smooth to get that 240hz part going for non 3d movies. (You will see 24p with 1080p when you push display to check and obviously you will see the difference on your blu ray movies).

The tv I purchased is a SONY bravia 46hx800

1.4 has added alot of new things to Home, some we like and some we hate. The following thread is designed to give you a "how to" for some of the new systems and settings.

How to swap PDA back to old Menu?

Open the PDA and pick "Options" from the 3 images.
Scroll down to "Settings" and pick "Personal".
Pick "Menu Pad Layout" and select "Advanced" with (X) Button.
Your menu pad is now back to the old layout.

How to invite users to a group chat?

Open the PDA and pick "Options" (Only needed if using new layout).
Scroll down to "Groups" and pick "Invite".
Whn the "Creating Group" is done you can now pick to select from "Available Friends", Nearby User" or "Enter Online Id".

How do i know whos in a group chat?

Press (L3) Button to open the chat log fully.
Press Sqaure Button.
Using the D-Pad selcet "List Users" and press the (X) Button.
This will then open up a list of users in the Group Chat.

How do i remove my own name and status from above my head?

Open the PDA and pick "Options" (Only needed if using new layout).
Scroll down to "Settings" and pick "Personal".
Pick "Character Labels".
Pick " My Label".
Turning "Name" to off will remove your name from above your head.
Turning "Status" to off will remove the status text from above your head.
*Note that when swapping status, the text and name will show and fade out after a few sec when turned to off.
You can also turn them off for other users by picking "Other Labels".

How do i invite someone into Home thats not on Home?

Open the XMB via the PS Button.
Scroll to your Friends List.
Highlight the friend you wish to invite and press triangle.
Pick "Invite" and press the (X) Button.
Pick "Send" and press the (X) Button.

How do i swap chat channels?
The quickest way to swap channels is by typing the following in Home:

/L = Local Channel
/G = Group Channel
/C = Club Channel
You can also do it the following way:

Press (L3) Button to open the chat log fully.
Press Sqaure Button.
Using the D-Pad selcet "Change Channel" and press the (X) Button.
Pick the channel you wish to use.

How do i swap the Club that the chat channels makes use of?

Press (L3) Button to open the chat log fully.

How do you send a PM to a user?

How do i swap my Status?

How to place wardrobe items in to "Storage"?

Open the PDA and pick "Options" (Only needed if using new layout).
Pick "Personal" and then pick "Go to Wardrobe".
Pick "Clothing".
Than Nav to the item you wish to place in storage.
Highlight the item and press "triangle" to move the item to storage.
Moving items you don't use to the storage folder will help speed up the loading of your main wardrobe and make swapping items faster. Even know items are in storage, you can still nav to them and pick to ware them from the storage folders.

Dragon"s Layer

Dragons Layer comes to the PS3 and it is now available for download on PSN. And it done pretty awesome. Reminse the old arcade feel. For those who never played the game in the 80's. This game was one of the first major games out with cartoon animation based on timing. Use your d-pad at the right time when it asks to move up, down, left, right,or push X to swing your sword. This game is still available as a blu ray but far more expensive...over $31 on amazon.com. There is in the menu to just enjoy the animation without playing. PS--did not see any trophies. But the game is still fun and works well and worth the $9.99 download on PSN available now.

New shooting games Time Crisis Razing Storm and The Shoot come available on 10/19/2010. I was reading a review earlier today about the reviewer complaining about the story line and character development...WHAT? It's a shootem up game that you kill the bad guys with your new Move controllers. The reviews for these games are coming out slowly. This is probably due to the game companies not sending out free copies to reviewers to just get mediocre scores. So, don't expect high scores...

Resident Evil Afterlife 3D

Just saw this movie last night in 3D and I was Amazed!!! This movie is like 3D all the way through unlike other movies. Definitely, a must see in the movie theatre. It's definitely worth the few extra dollars for 3D. Unlike other movies in 3D, Afterlife 3D is pretty much 3D all the way through. Plus, this movie makes you feel proud for playing the game for the last 10 years the way it treats the story and character. Watching that big zombie haul the axe down the street is just epic. Oh yea, when what the movie in 3D be prepared to duck. Enjoy!

The new year looks to be great for gaming. Some exciting games are coming out like God of War 3, MAG, Final Fantasy XIII, GT5, Agent, and many more. We can anticipate some great innovations coming to the PS3 this year like new motion controllers coming around Spring. 3D gaming with an update and possibly a new HDMI 1.4 will have a nice graphical impact. Looking forward we can see more upgrades and features of the Playstation network...possibly music related.

2009 brought us plenty of things to the PS3. We saw Playstation Home grew up in a big way this year and it is still free. Playing multiplayer games are still free and works very well. Some unique games came out in a big splash this year like Killzone 2, Infamous, Uncharted 2, and Demon Souls...playable only on the PS3 and are highly recommended.

I went on to sing a few songs for fun and notice the update and was shocked to learn that we can now edit our videos that we record our live performance. Pretty cool and it is free. I also noticed the online music store has now over 800 songs to choice from. A far cry from 80 songs in the beginning. So, this holiday if you want to get a good karoake experience for a low cost...checkout Singstar. Get the bundle with the mics. You will also want to get the playstation eye to make your videos and load up on the Singstar Community for judging.

Hurray, Netflix is coming to the PS3...it is going to start out with a disc that you will have to put into your PS3 til 2010...when they will finally update into XMB...probably due to legal reasons...Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. I found out early this morning on KCRA 3 here in Sacramento, CA...plus and additional confirmation by email from SONY...PS3 blog. I have been using it on other devices and it works great for watching older movies. Downloads start pretty fast too. Even though GameTrailers.com gave U2 a 9.3(a good score, but many would argue should be higher), does show why this game is worth the price of admission. The game is polished, better in every way than the first one, and now has various types of multiplayer. A definite MUST HAVE for anyone with a PS3. See the review for yourself. Just letting you know that it does show some of parts of actual game play of the game. But if you are the fence, then you should check this review out.

Transferring Files by USB Thumb Drive

If you ever wanted to back up some of your files on your PS3 or just transfer some files from a PC, then here is what you can do using a thumb drive.

1. Connect your USB thumb drive to your PC and open it.
2. Make a folder called PS3
3. Inside the PS3 folder make four folders called... MUSIC,PICTURE,SAVEDATA, and VIDEO (All in CAPS)

By doing this allows your files to be recognized by the PS3 when you insert your USB thumb drive. This comes in handy when you want to backup your files and move to a a new PS3 slim or upgrade your hard drive. Important, you can not backup your games and updates...those you can download from the PSN store. So, BEWARE (you can only download your purchases so many times from PSN)

Example...
Now that you set up your thumb drive you can load some pictures from your Personal Computer onto the file PICTURE. Take the the drive over to your PS3 and plug the drive into a usb port. Look under photo and in seconds your drive should appear. If you push X then you will get a scary message "There are no images". So push "O" to go back to the drive and push ^ Triangle. Select "Show all" and you will see the four files made. Select PICTURE and view your contents. Use ^ Triangle to Transfer to your PS3 or do a slide show.

To save those pictures of Ingame play on you Wipeout HD. Just select the photo on your PS3, then push ^ Triangle to select "Copy". And you are now ready to take the drive back to your PC to post on your blog.

I was at a party tonight and brought my PS3 along to play Rock Band 1 and 2. My surprise is that most of the people at the party have no idea about the PS3 on what it can do. Slim? Clueless, guess only the internet crowd gets it. I think these commercials need to get out to the masses more.

The good news is my local Best Buy was sold out of them on Saturday.

Why cheer? The more consoles equals more money for developers to come and make better games and features for all of us.

It is nice to see the inner workings of your new PS3. Especially, if you want to upgrade the hard drive(which does not void your warranty see your owners manual to double check). WARNING, going in your new PS3 other than changing your hard drive may VOID your warranty. I would also recommend going onto the forums at us.playstation.com to see other peoples how to's before jumping in. It is strongly recommended that you use the right SCREW DRIVER and be careful of stripping the blue screw. I had to use pliers to get mine out of my old PS3 60gb.

As the video shows, the special edition may not be all that it is cracked up to be. Even if its the 360 version, i thought it may be important to show that Batarang. The PS3 version probably has different codes. We do get to play as the Joker in its own map that we can download for free on PSN. The game is out. Shop around for deals. The game looks pretty good and offers more than what the demo showed that you can download at PSN store.

Not much has changed except that the ability to install another OS on the system has been removed. Aside from that, you're looking at quite the sexy console on the market. Ba boom.

From wedotech.net, our friends over in the UK our being squeezed on a serious price increase for Modern Warfare 2. Watch the video on the level of seriousness. Game prices this generation already started higher this past few years and all indications looks like it may be going up even higher.
I kind of agree with higher prices: people will start to look for other alternatives...like used games...putting them off for 6 months/year til a serious price drop....only buy a smaller amounts than what we would like...encourage piracy...or just quit gaming altogether. This along with the recession/depression could bring about another gaming crisis of ruining the industry. Activision already made threats to SONY about lowering the price of their console. Kind of ironic that they are increasing Activisions pricing on their games.
